updates on therapy :)

This is such a positive update that i'm smiling as i write it.

So i guess the fun stuff first :)

On Monday the children in Mikey's Yarran class decorated their classroom christmas tree. they had great big colourful stars that they each put up. it was really cute.
When we were out at Big W Mikey saw the tree's and talked about them so we came home and dug out our Christmas Tree a little earlier than usual and It made Mikey (and the girls) so happy to decorate it themselves.
I helped with the lights and tinsel and then they put all the shiney pretty balls and stars on the tree and really did an even job of it too :)

Another very cool update from Coralie, Mikey's OT, is that he's doing really really well with all his fine motor skills and she's just so pleased with how he's doing.
today he was asked to trace and cut up shapes and then glue them to the paper. but instead of just gluing them in random order, he made a picture of a house with a tree! he had a square, circle, rectangle and triange to work with so the rectangle went under the circle to make the tree and then the triangle over the house :D Then as if that wasn't enough, he wrote his name perfectly and without prompting or help!

Then! Coralie asked Mikey to copy the words "I can Jump" so he copied I can... but then he decided to DRAW jumping... so he drew a stick figure of himself and a mini tramp under him.
what an amazing kid hey!!!

and the final update relates to his weighted vest.
i have used this with him now for when we go out to places like the shopping centre, or the gym playgroup and he is able to focus very well and behave very very well while wearing his weighted vest.
it's a nice black tailored looking vest so it's not abnormal to look at, infact people look and think how smart he looks in it :D lol. but the update on that is that it's working perfectly and i'm so happy :D

So thats about it for now :D more to work on as always with his pen hold and his muscle tone... but the achievements are so noteworthy :)
