Reminissing...

Mikey turned 5 on May 22nd :)

just yesterday i was talking with a good friend about birth due to another friend having a baby recently and it was amazing to think about mikey's birth day in detail from the times of contractions, what happened during the day, to the length and events of his birth and what he looked like and did when he was a newborn.

It had my mind blown when i think about all the things that happened on the 22nd of May 2006. I look at his newborn baby portrait on my wall and remember what it was like to have just one beautiful tiny baby...

i remember what his bedroom looked like and sometimes i can even smell it if i pick a memory of a night time feeding...

i remember putting him in his capsule so many times, and having to do it JUST after a feed because he didn't like the car most of the time and would need to be asleep.
i remember often i had to wait for him to fall asleep in his capsule before i even thought about going to the car, especially if it was for morning church or an early appointment.

I remember my favourite jumpsuit that i had for him. It was bought for him at our baby shower and it was a 000 thick navy blue cotton ribbed all in one. very warm. looked fantastic on him. So much so that when he'd grown out of it i bought it in a size 1 for the next winter season.

it's hard to look at my HUGE 5 year old child now and see that tiny little baby... but it is comforting to know that alot of his mannerisms are still somewhat reflecting the personality he had as a small baby... his placid nature... his contentment with objects and movies... his love for Disney Pixar films. LOL.

Mikey has been fighting a few little illnesses lately... thank you winter and student exposure... but he's getting there.

My next challenge is picking him a christmas gift that will not become a source of arguments or a contributor to his OCD. LET THE GAMES BEGIN! lol.
