FaHCSIA Helping Children with Autism Package

Today we received emailed copies of mikey's Letter of Introduction.

This means that we now have access to the FaHCSIA funding provided by the government to help parents of children with Autism up till their 7th birthday.

it's a $12,000 surplus of funds for each child to help provide financial relief for early intervention services.
the maximum amount useable is $6000 per financial year. Any money that isn't used is rolled over and over each financial year until the child reaches their 7th birthday.

There are limitations on where the funds are useable. but any therapist who can prove that they're specialised in helping children with Autism can apply to be covered under the FaHCSIA funding group.

Mikey's occupational therapist from Senseability is covered under this group so all of his OT will be automatically billed to FaHCSIA and we dont have to pay a dime if we dont want to.

35% of the funds are able to be used for resources. these are things which are deemed to be of worth to Mikey's early intervention and therapy at home.
I look forward to speaking to Coralie from senseability and working out what it is she can purchase for me to help create a learning centre at home for Mikey and eventually the girls aswell.
