Happy and Sad

It has been a happy and sad past 24 hours....
two close friends of mine have experienced the end of a pregnancy... very sadly, one of my friends did not see the end in a joyful way and has had to farewell her son 4 weeks before he was due to be born.
my other friend welcomed her 4th beautiful daughter into the world and is recovering currently and enjoying her family with a very sombre gratitude.

On a more Mikey focus - We received a call from the Yarran Early Intervention service which is highly recommended for his level of Autism and he is now on the home based programme. This programme is established to accomodate and assist families who haven't confirmed a place at the centre based programme.

Mikey will see a therapist from Yarran once a fortnight on Mondays at 1pm where they will involve him in Play Therapy - helping to push boundaries and get him a little desensitised to sensory problems.

I have also called the local ASD intervention centre which conducts Psycology and Speech Therapy - We are taking Mikey to this service to help him with his night time fears and the fears of being left and being away from me and Adam. We are finding that he is afraid of the dark, petrified of being left by himself for things as simple as me feeding Zoe or going to the mailbox... he is not sleeping at the moment and when he is awake he is wanting the lights on and will not allow me or adam to leave. so hopefully the psycologist can help us to work with mikey to resolve these fears and many other problems he encounters with going outside alone, daycare etc..
